Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both lawyers. As a young girl of just five when she left for Oxfordshire and attended the Dragon School. Emma decided to be an actor at age six. Through the years, she attended the Oxford branch Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. There she learned singing dance, acting and singing. Her performances had been in several Stagecoach and school productions before she turned ten. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone The 2001 film adaptation from J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was initially discovered as a casting agent through her Oxford teacher of drama. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint following auditions for 8 times. They were chosen to play three leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. The film's release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's cinematic screen debut. The film is 2001's top production, and it broke records during the opening day and first weekend. The critics were impressed by the film and its performance. The Daily Telegraph, a widely read British publication, has praised Emma for her outstanding performance. Emma's performance was nominated and won five awards later in the film.
